Pip Value Calculator

Find what one pip is worth in US dollars on 11 forex pairs, gold and oil, for any position size. For pairs not quoted in US dollars, enter your platform's current rate.

What pip value tells you

Pip value converts a price move on the chart into money in your account. It is the missing input in position sizing: to keep a loss to a set amount, you need to know what each pip of your stop loss costs at the lot size you trade. Leverage does not change pip value; lot size and the exchange rate do.

Formula

How the result is calculated

1

Pip value in the quote currency

Pip Size × Contract Size

0.0001 × 100,000 = 10 USD

2

Convert to US dollars

The quote currency is USD: no conversion needed

0.0001 × 100,000 = $10.00

3

Scale to your position

Pip Value per Lot × Lots

$10.00 × 1.00 = $10.00

Pip values by instrument
